For some reason I had a hard time sleeping, so I was the first to get to the bus yesterday morning and therefore took some photos of the surrounding area (do not be fooled into thinking that we are in this pristine, quaint little town. Lurking in the corners, under the bridge and beneath the trees are druggies, hookers and locals that are ready to "knife you"!)...
Yesterday was an interesting day at work - rather slow, but also really fun in parts! Tom still avoided the camera...
But I also managed to get more people "hoola hooping" so have decided to not post the video quite yet but wait to edit a "hoola Medley" to post at a later date (stay tuned!!)...
We wrapped early yesterday (even less of an excuse for me to post late today), so Tawa, Stacey, Harry and I decided to go out for some Indian food. We tried this new place called "Indiya" which is down the main drag at Bedford...
The food was better than the other place, but still not quite as flavourful as I have found in other places...
That being said, the dessert menu more than made up for it!
FUNKY PIE??!!
Well Harry took the liberty of ordering one for us to share - he saw is as a cultural opportunity for us as we had never seen or heard of "Funky Pie" before (we are clearly uncultured people!!)...
It was actually really yummy - pie crust, vanilla ice cream with caramel and nuts on top!
Anyhow, seeing as we are in Bedford and it takes about 2 hours from when you order your food until you get it - it was rather late by the time we left. We retreated back to the Swan...
And called it a night!

Yum yum...
I took the liberty of photographing everything I ate today as a little food journal - more so that I could see on one page what on earth I am eating that is turning me into a rotund blob. This is what I ate today...
6:30am - Oatmeal
8:00am - Fruit Salad
11:00am - Carrot, Ginger, Apple juice
12:30pm - Green peas, corn, potatoes, pasta, bean salad
yum yum (uukk)!
2:30pm - Watermellon
4:00pm - mint candy
4:30pm - Mixed Berry smoothie
7:00pm - Veggie wrap sandwich
9:30pm - Raisin Bran with Soy Milk
PHEW - I am clearly a hungry hungry hippo! Would never have sated listing everything I ate if I had realized how bloody much it was!! Sorry!!!
Anyway, food aside I had a pretty productive day both work wise and Japanese tourist wise. Ed and I were not able to play any scrabble today...
but I did manage to catch up over lunch and also over one of those creepy mannequins in the hallway. Ed decided to become the poster boy for people against "Prop 8" - you go Ed!
Another strange thing happened at lunch. Our dear Stacey who NEVER leaves her bag anywhere (she wears it 24/7) actually placed her bag on the ground and walked 5 steps away from it??!! No one would believe me unless I captured it on my camera - here you are folks... the bag sans Stacey...
In addition, I have had more interaction with Tom in the office - this is great because he is kind of fabulous (though I would never admit that to his face). He is working on the soundtrack to my life (aka every time I walk past his desk he chooses a song that fits my mood or something that I had said - its pretty funny but you have to be there). I tried to snap a pic of him today, but I guess that there is a reason that we work behind the camera instead of in front as he was not keen on being captured...
Ohhh and I took this pic from inside the hanger that we are working on at the moment. Just so you get the scope of how damn big this thing is - this is an 10 story building INSIDE the hanger!!! Crazy...
After work, Tawa and I took a little road trip the the local 24 hour Tesco's. Going to supermarkets in foreign countries is something that I always enjoy as I think it is a good indication of the local culture/ lifestyle.
A native "Cardingtonner" in their native dress - AMAZING!
I must say, this Tesco did have a lot to offer, but I also think that I have been in a void of any shops so a cell phone store would have been exciting for me!
I purchased some food, but most importantly a hoolahoop!!!
Video to come - was too tired to wait for it to upload!
PS Tawa drives with the steering wheel in her face - we had a good laugh about it and I am in no position to poke fun seeing as I don't even have a car and was most greatful for Tawa to take me shopping, but it was rather funny!! I LOVE YOU TAWA!!
